Having advertisements pop smack dab into the middle of a gallery or a series of search results is aesthetically heinous and the only rational explanation that comes to mind is they want to drive away users without paid descriptions. For a while, I'd included deviantART on the list of sites I exempt from Firefox's adblock since they were tastefully well-placed and I hadn't seen any obnoxious flashing, noise-making, or flickering ads out of them, but this new placement is horrible blocked, and three or four times worse unblocked.
Moreover, while being able to look at all favorites of a certain media or genre is nice (and I'd love to see it expanded to include keyword searches or sorting by author as well), it somehow defaulted to not showing ANY of my favorites from before the change unless I click over to "Everything" each time. Which means that if I want all of my favorites to actually display, I need to go through and re-fav everything.
My heartfelt apologies to anyone whose inbox is currently getting flooded by +favs from me.
